Our Aim

Using Isaiah 40:29-31 as the basis for the group’s motto, ETS draws from the Lord strength, motivation and direction to achieve their purpose of formation. The Lord Himself will accomplish the following using ETS in His own time, will and way.

    • Preach the Gospel

ETS hope to bring the messages of Christ as described in Revelation 14:6-12 and Revelation 18:1-4 fulfilling Joel 2:28-31 to as many people it could as young people. While not alone in this mission, ETS believes it participates in God’s wider movement preparing the world for His work’s completion.

    • Call Youths out of Babylon

ETS after being called out of Babylon themselves, which they define as world influences and systems that draw people away from Christ Jesus, they aim to lead youths out of Babylon. ETS want to testify in their lives that the power of Christ Jesus can work against all powers that cripple and enslave young people. Though coming out of world does not happen overnight, the message needs to be preached, the world needs to hear and decisions need to be made. Coming out of Babylon is a lifelong journey which will end only at the Second Coming of Christ Jesus.

    • Reach and Develop Young People

ETS aim to reach young people with similar backgrounds as them and bring them to active ministry and occupy them as much as possible. ETS seek to help them identify their gifts and talents and develop them by engaging them in different areas of ministries throughout the year.

    • Engage Young people in People and Community Development

While focusing on achieving its spiritual objectives, ETS hope to positively contribute to the communities around them as well, both as a group and individually. Some of these activities, inadvertently, lead young people to live positive lives which they would not otherwise live, if it had not been for the ministry of ETS.

How Does ETS hope to Achieve its Objectives – The Method of Ministry

The methodology of ETS can be broken down into 3 strategies: Call, Reach and Bring up

To Call

ETS believe that they have been sent by God as Paul stated in Romans 10, to reach a select group of souls within the whole spectrum of people that need to be reached. To call is to preach the gospel through the following activities ETS has been doing:

  • End of Year public Evangelistic meetings
  • Church based
    • Revival Meetings
    • Stewardship meetings
    • Health Meetings
  • Workshop seminars
    • Health talk
    • Drug awareness
    • Finance and Budget
    • Tradesman workshops
    • Family
    • Amazing Facts
  • Sabbath Programs
    • Friday Night Fellowships (FNF)
    • Divine Services
    • Adventist Youth (AY) programs
    • Other Sabbath preaching and sharing activities
  • Open Air Preaching
    • Street witnessing
    • Residential Area preaching
    • Preaching Around Parks and fields

To Reach

ETS believe that ETS need to go where the people are. This is in accordance with the principal established by Jesus Christ himself. Since the formation of the group, ETS has been reaching young people in the remote parts of PNG as well as those in the urban areas. These are the target areas that determine the approach:

  • Very remote and rural area ministry where there are no car roads
  • Hospital Ministry
  • Prison Ministry
  • Slums Ministry
  • Open air Streets and field ministry where people’s homes are (cities and towns)
  • Friendship ministry to reach mates at work, neighbourhood and so on.
  • Church based ministry

To Bring Up

While encouraging those ETS is trying to reach, they also focus on nurturing and developing of its own members. The group carries out ways to find each other’s talents and gifts and encourages them to use them. ETS seek to develop skills and talents in the following areas:

  • Preaching – members are given opportunities to take part in smaller programs. When they shine, they are given more opportunities to preach in divine services or even to conduct meetings.
  • Singing – all are encouraged to sing at first and participate in this area of ministry. Some are encouraged to compose and write songs. Creativity and originality are the two guiding traits in ETS music. ETS have developed the Enga Spiritual genre of singing in PNG sung in the Engan dialect. Two albums ETS have produced so far capturing original compositions. They are available in digital platforms.
  • Drama and skits – original dramas are encouraged and so far, ETS have developed some Bible based miming skits.
  • Writing poems and compositions and they are written down in ETS Newsletter, the Voice. Some are turned into songs.
  • Conducting workshops listed above relating to their own field of interest and their area of work. The pioneers of ETS have gone into professional fields and even tradesfields. They are involved in ministry alongside those still undergoing training as students. ETS have conducted health talk and clinics (ETS Drs and Nurses are involved), legal (ETS lawyer) talk, budgeting (accountants), music (ETS musical directors) and so on.
  • Digital and multimedia ministry which involves capturing content through photography and cinematography. ETS has presence in YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, website and WhatsApp. ETS seek to involve all its members to occupy themselves in whichever platform they want to. Others are involved in the official newsletter called the Voice. All members are encouraged to come up with poems, new songs, short anecdotes, devotional write ups, bible studies and articles. The Voice has been published by the group’s voice person since 1997. Now it is digitised.
