END OF YEAR MINISTRY

2018 End of Year Ministry Story

The 2018/2019 EOYM was one of those challenging ministry year, yet we see the outstretched arm of God leading as always. The ministry was arranged and organized by Elijah Manda and the Mendi End Time Swallows boys to be conducted at Southern Highlands Province (SHP). The province was faced with political rallies at the beginning of the year which gave the province a SOE (state of emergency). However, the boys was compelled to go.[expander_maker id=”2″ more=”Read more” less=”Read less”]

Ministry at Tsemberiki Village

The first location was at Tsemberiki Village, one of the most remote places in the Southern Highlands Province (SHP) sharing its borders with Kikori – Gulf Province. To travel by car, one has to drive through a hassle bad road conditions for 16 – 18 long and tiring hours. Another way which the villagers considered shortest and cheap is a 6 hours drive from Hagen to Erave then another 4-6 hours of walking up the rugged mountains, down the streams and through mini muddy bush track.

We decided to take the cheaper route that includes a 6 hours of walking the track with all the equipment’s, PA Systems, speakers, food, fuels plus our own suits. The journey was long and tiring as most of the boys resided from urban areas and are not exposed to long distance walking and heights, but the Lord gave us the strength needed to walk.

The village is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by misty fog, steep mountains, thick jungles and beautiful wildlife. Obviously there is no access to the outside world. No electricity, no internet, no phone networks, no nothing. It was really a time to re-connect with God and reflect on His wondrous love with the natural surroundings that many a times get blocked by the things of civilization.

We gathered and setup at Pawabi SDA church ground. The entire church member is mainly females, mothers and few young woman and a couple of old man. It was really a challenging area.

As soon as we arrived, the boys help setup the stage which was beautifully prepared by the church members (mothers), put up the system and the meeting/fellowship begin that same afternoon. Steven Kual took the first two nights as our guest speaker Rungi was delayed due to the road conditions. He joined us the second night and continued on the third night till the end of the week.

During the week, we conducted health clinics with the medicine supplies generously donated by Port Moresby General Hospital. Our own member of the group Newman Pingi a medical doctor at Hagen general hospital, Pritchard Tabali – nursing student at Sopas Nursing college, Malcolm – Nursing student at Pacific Adventist College and John were able to see and treat villages. While Bill Namai – Business Analyst at Kina Finance and Collin – Business student at University of Papua New Guinea conducted financial literacy to the villages. We also went out to do market witnessing to the general public which resulted in a lot of villages coming to the nightly meetings.

We see the hand of God throughout the week and it was really a faith building experience for the boys plus our families and also the people at Tsemberiki village when four souls gave their life to Christ and went into the water of baptism.

Ministry at Mendi Town

After a week at Tseberiki, we went to the Heart of Southern Highlands Province – Mendi Town. The meeting was arranged by the Mendi ETS boys. And yes we were faced even more challenges, the guest speaker – Rungi Pingi was delayed again due to the road conditions, there were problems with the PA system so the first night was cancelled.

Despite the many challenges and delays, Steven Kual step in again to utter the words of the Lord in the first two nights and many were amazed. The boys continually prayed earnestly and the Lord leads us through till the end. Rungi was able to join us again, the PA system was working fine and Momei oval was full to its capacity as people from all denominations gathered to listen about Jesus Christ Himself, the begotten of God as Rungi unveils each night through the power of the Holy Spirit. All were amazed, even the elders and the pastors were thrilled of how the Holy Spirit guided the message through the speaker each night. Thirteen souls were baptized on Sabbath of which 9 were from ETS members including Belinda and Meli the wifes of Swallows.

All praise and glory and honor be to the King always forever and ever Amen.[/expander_maker]
